Spider-Man PS4: 10 Comic Storylines Insomniac Must Use
5. Ultimate Comics: Ultimate Spider-Man
Miles Morales is bloody amazing. "Bah!" I hear you say, "no one could possibly match up to Peter Parker!" Well, Miles could. And then some.
Taking over the role of Spider-Man during the Ultimate Universe's twilight years, Miles Morales was the brainchild of Brian Michael Bendis, who is by all accounts one of the greatest visionaries in the medium. Partially inspired by Donald Glover's Spidey-PJ intro during Community's second season (along with the subsequent campaign to get him to play the character in Sony's reboot), Miles instantly resonated with Marvelites everywhere. Indeed, he became so popular that he's now even in the main 616 continuity, which is pretty amazing in itself. Add to that an always engaging, nuanced, and scathing narrative, and you have a character that by all means is far more relevant today than Peter Parker could ever wish to be.
Far be it from me to dare suggest Peter should kick the bucket at the end of Insomniac's opening to their Spidey franchise (seriously though, it could work); who's to say that this universe can't have two Spider-Men? That's the current status-quo of the comics right now after all, and if the erstwhile Daily Bugle photographer is as far along into his career as Insomniac have suggested, it certainly wouldn't seem out of place to have Miles knocking around with the OG web-slinger at some point in the story.
