Spyro The Dragon: Every Realm Ranked

1. Dream Weavers

Every single blade of grass in Dream Weavers is perfect, adding something new to the Spyro experience. Some might say that’s going too far, but seeing the Dream Weavers beautifully rendered in 4K was an absolute treat for those who’d played back when it was just basic polygons back in 1998.

In Lofty Castle and Dark Passage, Dream Weavers had two of the best Spyro levels ever. Both were laced with enchanting fantasy themes and had rich, absorbing atmospheres to draw the player in. Dark Passage especially has a huge range of enemies and gems to challenge Spyro.

Jacques is a little too similar to the disappointing Blowhard, but at least the thrown boxes mean he’s not totally redundant. Plus the whole level has wonderful twists throughout, most notably the invincible fools who must be attacked in rhythms to raise and lower platforms.

Everywhere else is covered in creativity too, like the size swapping energy beams in the realm itself, the trapped fairy sections and the extra fire power kisses. The dragons are gorgeously stylised too. Dream Weavers has everything that’s great about Spyro packed into one hugely enjoyable realm.
