Star Wars: 10 Best Starfighter Games You Need To Play

4. Star Wars Battle Pod

Battle Pod is one of the newer games on the list, being released in 2014. The game lets you fly through major battles from all three movies - Yavin in an X-wing, Hoth in a snowspeeder, Endor (forest) on a speeder bike, and Endor (space) in the Millenium Falcon. There is also a level that lets you fly as Darth Vader in an alternate aftermath to the destruction of the first Death Star.

The key draw to Battle Pod is the atmosphere it creates. The machine itself is huge and looks like something that you'd actually find in a starfighter. The curved screen takes up half of the pod, giving you a massive field of view. The chair is surrounded by speakers, completely immersing you in loud, crisp sound, and is also wired to create low-frequency vibrations to simulate impacts and explosions. Several fans around the pod work with the vibrating chair and controller to create the illusion of speed.

While arcades may be dying, it's worth your while to track down Battle Pod and give it a go. It doesn't break any new ground with content, but it creates one hell of an experience.
