Star Wars Battlefront 2: 10 New Gameplay Details You Need To Know
10. "Quite Drastic' Character Customisation (Shield, Aiming, Quickfire Mods)
In 2015's iteration, the only way to differentiate yourself on the battlefield was down to either what ability-based burner cards you had equipped, or which gun you were carrying. Even the latter all blurred into one after a while, especially seeing as in the Star Wars lore, characters tend to only ever use rifles, pistols and sniper rifles.
That said, the Battlefront games have always come complete with more off-kilter weapons like shotguns, and thanks to the 'Elite Trooper' edition of the game, we can see a number of weapon and character-specific mods being applied. "Enhanced Grip", "Barrel Vent", "Scope" - all of these will surely effect accuracy, cooldown rate, zooming distance etc., though they're also tied to a requisite class, ensuring a far more in-depth sense of balance in battle.
In addition, EA have mentioned multiple times as to how much you can also change your character's aesthetic, though it's unclear whether this means segmented customisation like head, arm, chest etc. pieces, or full skins. We'll have to wait and see, but judging by DICE's Dennis Brännvall, I'm assuming no two characters will look alike, nor will they handle the exact same, either.
