Star Wars Battlefront 2 Campaign: 9 Bold Story Predictions

5. The Ending Will Tie Directly Into The Last Jedi

Again, despite what the developers and EA have said, the story of Battlefront is definitely carrying on through to the new movies.

Releasing so close to The Last Jedi and already including playable characters from the new trilogy, it makes more sense that, instead of leaving off at the start of The Force Awakens, Battlefront 2 finishes just before the beginning of its sequel.

Because while they're not directly movie-licensed games, the Battlefront series is a film tie-in in everything but name. It was rumoured that the first title lacked content because it was pushed to release at the same time as the latest movie to capitalise on its success, and it's no coincidence that the upcoming game is releasing just before its sequel.

Plus, it's doubtful that Battlefront 3 will return to being multiplayer only, so the sequel needs to end its story on a note that will keep the next title's single-player relevant and up to date going forward.
