Star Wars Battlefront 2 Campaign Hands-On: 10 Things We Learned

3. Providing A Human Look At The Empire Is Extremely Interesting

Easily the most interesting aspect of what the team are building is this very idea of shining a light on the opposite side of the Force, or the galaxy's most dominant faction.

We hear about a planet of Empire-loving followers on Vardos, and we see Iden and her team talk about the Rebels as a band of misguided anarchists wanting to stop the "order" and peace they're trying to bring. Even when the Death Star 2 goes up, we see Iden's immediate reaction as one of sorrow and the realisation that her side's iconic weapon has fallen - yet she quickly quells her human emotions and continues to lead.

It's a very small beat, but emblematic of the sorts of "character moments" that fans cherish. We've had Luke deciding to save his friends over completing his training in Empire, Jyn breaking down and accepting her father's mission in Rogue One, and now Iden Versio comprehending that the Empire might not be as all-powerful as she once thought.

Perfect.
