Star Wars Battlefront 2 Controversy: 9 Things You Need To Know

9. The Elongated Wait For Season 2

Y'know what the original Season of content was themed around?

The Last Jedi. Which released on the 14th of December, 2017.

Since then EA and DICE have obviously weathered one hell of a storm to try and keep Battlefront as the Star Wars game, but many devs have been vocal about how all of these changes in direction have notably impacted the perceived rollout of content for the game.

Thankfully, EA didn't force a season pass for this iteration, but they did still sell a whole load of "Deluxe" and "Trooper" editions, meaning there are millions of players who continued to give them the benefit of the doubt at launch - only to be left waiting for additions to the base game that justify the investment.

Despite the lack of a pass, Battlefront 2 is still talked about as a platform for content to be "plugged in", and its content is thought of in terms of "seasons".

The combination of 'money paid' plus 'time invested' equalling "barely any word from the devs for literal months" has notably soured even the most devout players.
