Star Wars Battlefront 2 Controversy: 9 Things You Need To Know

3. The "Seasons" Framework Is Already Outdated

Another thing that contributes to the rising notion that "EA just don't care", this whole notion of Battlefront having "seasons" that would tie into the wider world of Star Wars has mostly fallen by the wayside.

DICE stated themselves that "Seasons will focus around a specific theme (such as a new Star Wars film, or an anniversary in the Star Wars Universe) and will usually span multiple months", yet with Solo: A Star Wars Story releasing in less than two weeks at time of writing, there's not one single asset from the film in the game.

We saw how this stuff is supposed to work with Rogue One, its DLC dropping on December 6th before the movie was released on the 13th. It helped build interest, and gave fans something to play when coming out the cinema.

In Battlefront 2's case, both The Last Jedi content was late (and underwhelming, considering the surface-level "pick a faction" stuff), and Solo's is... nowhere to be seen.

Needless to say, a set of Alden Ehrenreich or Donald Glover skins for Han and Lando would've gone a long way, and could've even made up for the movie's own lack of general hype from fans.
