Despite headlining the worst Star Wars film the world has ever seen, fans still have a fondness for Darth Maul. It's no surprise then that when the villain was announced as one of the first playable heroes of Battlefront 2, players went nuts.

And if early gameplay is to be believed, Maul is going to be one of the most devastating characters in the upcoming title.

While his double-edged lightsaber gives him a larger reach than other characters like Luke or Kylo, his ability to quickly throw it into a group of enemies or use a spin attack to get out of situations when he's surrounded means that getting close to the villain will result in a guaranteed one-way trip back to the respawn screen.

A fan favourite, although Darth Maul doesn't have a playstyle that's radically different from the other force users on the roster, there's no doubt he'll be one of the villains you'll see the most going forward.
