Fans of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 from Pandemic will recall that the game had a single-player story called Rise of the Empire. It wasn't anything too special - simply taking the maps from the multiplayer and providing a few objectives here or there to spice things up - but it was appreciated.

Aside from the 2D Clone Wars, a select few comics and Republic Commando, 2005's Battlefront sequel was one of only few Star Wars stories to chronicle the journey of the clones from Geonosis to Order 66. Now, in 2020, with the Clone Wars, Rebels and countless other comics and books to draw from, stories focusing on the clones are the norm. Where better to tell a new one, than in Battlefront?

Drawing inspiration from The Clone Wars animated series, Republic Commando and the previous Battlefront story, Battlefront 3 could remake the story of the original Battlefront sequel and place players in the shoes of a 501st trooper, starting from their training on Kamino, and concluding with Order 66.

It would be an incredible journey, and would really allow DICE to make a great companion piece for the Clone Wars by recreating episodes, and featuring appearances from the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano.
