Star Wars Battlefront 3: 5 Reasons Why It Definitely Needs To Be Made

1. Star Wars: Episode VII

Now, I think some of us have gotten over the shock of a new trilogy being produced... well, we're getting there anyway. But putting aside all the hate for a moment, we all love Star Wars and some of us probably can't wait to see it back on the big screen. Even though it may be a bit of a hash. But this does to me give some glimmer of hope between now and 2015. If there's one thing that can help gather hype, it's a video game. We have learnt in the last week from a former Free Radical employee that the game was allegedly "99% complete" when LucasArts pulled the plug. This was shot down a few days later by an unnamed LucasArts source who stated Free Radical were a bit unreliable. No matter who is right, from what I have seen, I bet that 99% was not far off. The game looked stunning and of retail value, but it was canned before it was fully finished. But something tells me LucasArts still own what they paid for, and with the recent news of the Star Wars franchise making a return to the big screen, I am a little inclined to believe they could do something with what they have. Certainly a final send off for the old trilogies would fit right before the new trilogy? Makes sense in terms of hype and marketing to me. There is a huge amount of demand for it, especially after a few lacklustre games from the Star Wars universe. A lot of fans are hoping that Disney's acquisition of the franchise will at least prod some development in Battlefront 3 and if they do, then maybe I will be a bit more relaxed on this whole 'Episode 7' business. With the prospect of the next gen consoles out sometime around this new Star Wars film, maybe it will all go quiet for a while on the Battlefront, but maybe, just maybe, one of the most memorable shooter franchises will return to us. What do you think about Battlefront 3? Do you want to see it released? Share your thoughts below.
