Star Wars Battlefront: 8 Big Things It Must Learn From The Older Games

1. Squad Commands Keep Combat Interesting

In today's expletive-ridden online voice lobbies, in game commands would make a great return for players less than eager to join in on the trash talking conventions. For AI allies as well, having the ability to command the rank and file soldiers to wage the battle your way was essential to really manipulate battlegrounds in your favour. For single player then, it really is a must have. Class variety is still paramount to the feature's success, but the original series' commands were anything but intricate. Simply having the ability to command your troops to follow and hold positions would be enough to wet the appetite of potential squad leaders, even if the AI is more competent than in Battlefront's glory days. DICE's game has us unbelievably excited for Battlefront's return. Everything down to the last detail looks as though it was pulled straight from the films' original sets, and the gameplay looks just as sublime as we'd expect it to be coming from the veterans of Battlefield. One thing is clear though - it isn't the original series, nor should it endeavour to be. What it can do however is take notes from its predecessors, and strive to be the best Star Wars experience it can be. Are you excited for DICE's Battlefront reboot? Or do you think the originals can never be topped? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
