Star Wars Battlefront: 8 Past Features DICE Must Bring Back
8. Return Of Real Classes
DICE were bold in their approach when focusing on the game-play of Battlefront. Instead of using the system in place with Battlefield, as well as the previous Battlefront games, classes have been wiped out, with a more COD-like approach adopted in terms of unlocking equipment through XP. There wouldn't be a problem here if this was any other shooter, because it is a standard system to have, but this is Battlefront were talking about. I recently played Battlefront 2 on my PC for that nostalgia factor, and was swiftly reminded of the sheer amount of classes available, such as the Bothan spy, scout troopers, Droidekas and many more. The reason why this worked so well in the old series was because it pretty much forced you to work as a team, rather than run off and try to kill everyone in your path. It ensured that you approached different situations more strategically, utilizing the help of your teammates who offered different abilities based on their chosen class.
