3. The Phantom Menace From A Different Perspective
For a character that spoke so little in his only live action appearance, Darth Maul has managed to claim an endearing presence amongst a majority of Star Wars fans who - had the character been given a less than appealing aesthetic - would've more than likely relegated the character to the annals of forgettable Star Wars characters along with Jar Jar Binks and Sy Snootles. Maul's characterisation in Episode I was far from exemplary, having been given less than a minute's worth of dialogue and no prominent backstory to speak of either, it's been up to the expanded universe to turn Maul into fan favourite he is today. Considering his actions in The Phantom Menace were shrouded in mystery, actually showing what he was up to whilst the Jedi were invested in midi-chlorians and podracing may be a good avenue for the game to explore - perhaps in an epilogue or even a sequel. Giving the tattooed humanoid the story he should've gotten first time around would mark the first time a Star Wars game reinterpreted an on-screen event in a prominent way, but from what we've seen so far I honestly couldn't think of a better equipped developer to do so.
