Why EA's marketing team chose to show off an extremely linear section of gameplay at E3 is beyond us, but as it turns out Jedi Fallen order is anything but linear.

Each planet in the game can be returned to when the player has new abilities and items, which means that fully exploring them the first time around will be impossible.

This links the game much more tightly into its platforming elements as well, as they are necessary to reach different parts of each world. Apparently Respawn have made sure that some secrets are very well-hidden, so you won't be getting too many hints from the map.

We did get a brief look at this during the extended E3 demo, with BD-1 getting a voltage upgrade that allowed him to power up different devices.

Exploring the planets is such a big part of the gameplay loop that it is astonishing that it hasn't been shown off more.
