Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - 10 MAJOR Questions We Still Need Answering
6. How Many Ways Can We Approach Combat?
Gamers nowadays are used to having a lot of choices when it comes to how they can approach their games. This is something that game series like the Far Cry and Fire Emblem games understand implicitly. If you want your combat to remain interesting for the few dozen hours at least that you're asking a player to be stuck with it, you'd best give them some options.
Combat is a great place to start with this mindset because of the random and chaotic nature of violence, and how the best games out there use that randomness to make the player think on their feet and plan ahead to ensure victory.
Jedi: Fallen Order, being a game centered around a jedi in the rebel alliance, should really take advantage of the guerrilla warfare aspect of being a rebel, making you plan out every single encounter, and give you multiple options on how to approach a situation.
The only question, of course, is how?
Just how many ways can a player approach a combat situation, beyond either sneaking in and taking them out quietly, or going in lightsaber-blazing? Can we use the force to break up groups of enemies without them knowing you're there? Can we sabotage machinery to give us an edge when we revel ourselves?
Answering this question will definitely make people way more interested in what this game has to offer.
