Perhaps one of the most unique features displayed in Star Wars: Squadrons is the first person gameplay. In most air combat games, they usually feature a third person perspective, giving you a full view of the ship/aircraft. Squadrons decides to pull back on this and instead commits to immersive first person gameplay.

This feature will put players in the heat of the battle as though they ARE the pilot. Particularly because POV shots are one of the staples of Star Wars space battles such as the Trench Run in Episode IV.

This will also add a new level of intensity to some of the battles because of the landscapes. First person gameplay will mean players won't always see obstacles coming in the battlefield, as will as players coming from behind to land a killer shot.

Overall, Squadrons is looking to put players in the cockpit of their favourite starfighters, and assigning players the first person perspective allows for players to immersive themselves in the high octane ship battles.
