Street Fighter: 10 Worst Characters EVER (And Why)

1. Sawada

Anyone who had the misfortune of playing Street Fighter: The Movie tended to ask the same two questions. "How is this game WORSE than the movie?" and "Who the hell is Sawada?"

How Sawada came to be is pretty confusing. Capcom wanted a Japanese actor to portray Ryu in the film and pushed for Kenya Sawada for the role. But because he didn't speak much English, Sawada didn't get the part. As a compromise, a brand new character was created just for him and was named Sawada in his honour. So to summarise, the character of Sawada was ONLY created to stop an actor from feeling sad.

You can tell he was stuffed into the game at the last minute due to his uncreative moves, many of which are borrowed from other characters. Also, one of his kicks caused a glitch, proving the developers didn't bother finishing his animations.

Capcom intended Sawada to appear in future games but the response for him was so negative, he's never showed up in a single entry since. Kenya Sawada was pretty upset by the reception since he genuinely believed the character would be a part of the Street Fighter mythos for years to come.
