Street Fighter 5 Season 2 Launch: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
5. Direct Input On PC
PC players rejoice! As promised far before the launch of the game, Street Fighter V now officially supports DirectInput controllers.
Street Fighter V's Steam port has had some small flaws, but the biggest of them was only support for XInput controllers. This meant 360 and Xbox One controllers worked natively, but some PC controllers, and PS4 controllers, failed to be recognized at all.
That all changes with the new update. Steam supports PS4 controllers now, so those who have bought a PS4 arcade stick no longer have to use fan-created drivers to use their highest quality sticks. Coupled with a new controller input remapping menu, the PC version of Street Fighter V will finally feel like a proper PC port.
Again, this is yet another strange omission that was lacking from Street Fighter V, yet was introduced in Street Fighter 4 before it. It just seems so odd that Capcom had taken so long to reintroduce it- but if it's finally back, there's no point in complaining anymore, is there?
All's well that ends well.
