9. El Fuerte
Street Fighter has always had a soft spot for professional wrestling, with grapplers like Zangief and R. Mika representing the art-form in various games in the series. And what with pro wrestling being in as good a shape as its been since WCW folded in 2001, now seems like an apt time for Capcom to bring back Street Fighter's sole lucha libre representative.
Pro wrestlers in fighting games tend to be lumbering powerhouses, but El Fuerte is a welcome exception to the rule as his lucha libre style emphasises speed over power. (In other words, he would be a great foil for the more traditional Zangief).
Intriguingly, El Fuerte gets a notable mention in SF 6's World Tour mode when Ryu openly disses his cooking skills (oh yeah, Fuerte is also a chef). Given that everyone in the world of Street Fighter is ready to fight at a moment's notice, El Fuerte having his cooking insulted is all the reason needed for him to step in and start throwing hands.
