Super Mario: 10 Things You Probably Didn't Know

4. He's A Mass-Murderer

You read that right. The most recognisable children's videogame character is a mass murderer. Let me explain. In 1985, when Super Mario Bros. was released on the NES and catapulted Mario to fame and fortune, there was one simple little fact mentioned in the instruction manual that makes the whole game - and all the Mario games released since - a whole lot more sinister. In the game description part of the manual, a short back-story was given so people would understand the setting of the game. It explained how the evil Koopa's invaded the kingdom turning the peaceful Mushroom People into...BRICKS?! Yes, bricks. The same bricks that Mario smashes to pieces in every one of his games! If the body count wasn't high enough then maybe you should factor in the amount of Goomba's and Koopa's he slaughters in every game. Clearly, Mario still has some issues.
