11. Waluigi's Unbearable Existence
ID: DAF8-0000-0027-7A46 Just who really is Waluigi? The purple-clothed antithesis of Luigi turned up relatively recently in the Mario mythos, and very little has been known about the guy until now. This level attempts to explore the dark emptiness of Waluigi's soul, showing the hopelessness of his existence. Throughout the level, you'll encounter messages written in coins that are always just out of reach, saying ominous things like 'You Cannot Succeed' and 'Sacrifice Your Sense of Self'. Waluigi never completes the level himself, and dies in his existential nightmare before Mario steps in - as always - to finish things off. The exact meaning of what it all means is never made fully clear, but evokes an unlikely sense of sympathy for the overlooked purple beanpole.
