Super Smash Bros Switch: 10 Ways Nintendo Can Learn From Their Best Games

3. Introducing Cappy!

With a brand new 3D Mario on the horizon, it's time the main man himself had an upgrade. Mario's moveset has remained mostly unchanged in Smash Bros for a long time now and it's time for FLUDD to go.

Super Mario Sunshine is a relatively old game now and Odyssey is far more relevant. Not only that, but FLUDD isn't the best move in the game and Mario's new friend, Cappy, could lend itself to some interesting mechanics. By pressing down+B, Mario could throw his hat.

How this would work is up to the geniuses at Nintendo, but it could randomly spawn in a minor Mario enemy to take control of briefly, or even mess with an opponent's controls. The move could also be used as an additional recovery technique, allowing Mario to use the hat as a platform.
