Super Smash Bros Wii U And 3DS: 5 Things We Learned At E3
5. Pac-Man's In It!
Having already blown the minds of old-school gamers by drafting in Mario's (and Nintendo's) historic enemy Sonic the Hedgehog, the new Super Smash Bros games will go even further into the depths of video games history - and the properties of their old rivals - by introducing Pac-Man as a playable character in the Wii U and 3DS titles! Namco's flagship character, and the first properly iconic video game character (the Pong paddles don't really count, don't be silly), will be joined by a host of his 8-bit arcade brethren, too. And if that anthropomorphised Pac-Man you see in the image above doesn't seem quite right to you, don't worry; one of the character's attacks, from the looks of the reveal trailer, will be transforming into the flat yellow circle we recognise from that dark maze he found himself in for most of the eighties, wacca-waccaing his way around levels and gobbling up Mario, Peach and Samus. Not only that, but he can call on the retro powers of the Pac-Man ghosts and even the titular star of Dig Dug. It also looks like the 3DS version of the game will feature a level where players clamber around the original Pac-Man maze!
