Super Smash Bros Wii U And 3DS: 5 Things We Learned At E3
2. The Levels Are Crazier Than Ever
Besides the way they pilfer their own (and now over publisher's) history of games for the character rosters, one of the most fun and inventive things Nintendo do with the Smash Bros games is cast a similarly imaginative and nostalgic eye when it comes to the level design. Over the course of the series so far we've seen levels inspired by everything from Super Mario World to Ocarina of Time to Game & Watch. From the looks of it, things are kicking up a notch with the Wii U and 3DS entries. We've got new levels to go with Little Mac (a Punch Out-style boxing ring) and Pac-Man (the aforementioned iconic maze, complete with collectable cherries and patrolling ghosts), but also the levels themselves look more dynamic than ever. They'll change as you play, but in even crazier ways than ever before: a playthrough of the Mushroom Kingdom saw the environment constantly shifting through various Mario locales, with new threats and weapons cropping up with each change. Just to keep you on your toes.
