Set to appear in Ava DuVernay's upcoming New Gods film, there are few series' as impressive - or revered - as Jack Kirby's New Gods.

Created when the former Marvel maestro left the House of Ideas at the turn of the 1970s, the New Gods came along and reinvented the scale of the DC Universe. Darkseid, Orion, Mister Miracle and Big Barda were all created during this period, and with the group set to take on a new level of fame when DuVernay's film moves ahead, now's a good a time as any to get cracking on that video game.

Of all the duos to focus on, Mister Miracle and Barda are the most obvious. Certainly so, given their recent resurgence in Tom King and Mitch Gerads' Mister Miracle.

Undoubtedly the main appeal, however, lies in exploring the architecture Kirby created during his time at DC. Apokolips, New Genesis and countless other planets all have their own lore to explore, and though they were broached in the aforementioned Rise of Apokolips, they've never been explored to the extent that a Rocksteady project inevitably would.
