Superman: 10 DC Games Rocksteady Should Make Instead

7. Batman Beyond

Though Warner Bros. Montreal look set to explore one possible future in their next Arkham title, that shouldn't stop Rocksteady from pursuing a sequel in the franchise centred around Batman Beyond.

Created first in 1999 by the folks who helmed Batman: The Animated Series, Batman of the Future (as it was titled in the UK) centred around the exploits of Terry McGuinness and an older, retired Bruce Wayne. It only lasted two seasons and an animated movie (both must watches, by the way), but the show soon developed a cult following and, in 2011, also inspired official DC Canon with a Batman Beyond comic.

It's a revered aspect of The Dark Knight's mythos, and with Neo Gotham boasting all the inflections that made Blade Runner's world so absorbing back in 1982, it's easy to see how Batman Beyond could translate well to the gaming medium.

Bring back the cast of the original animated series - along with flashbacks aplenty and that killer theme - and you have a fan-favourite title in the making.
