The fact there was a lack of great ECW games back in the day means, in a way, WWE owes it to the fans to give them an ECW mode to be proud of. This is no fault of ECW's. They simply didn't have the budget of a WWE or WCW to go out and produce a 'No Mercy' or a 'WCW/NWO Revenge'. The likes of Anarchy Rulez and Hardcore Revolution simply couldn't compare to the standards set by the two leading companies of the professional wrestling world which left sole ECW fans pretty angry. They had some fantastic features that set them apart from the pack. But the all round experience was lacking compared to the competition. Here's their chance to get something they can finally get their teeth sunk into. Over 14 years later, no less.
