Team Fortress 2: 15 Stupidest Additions So Far
6. The Machina
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79Un1bxB7YgAs well as the Short Circuit, the promotional Deus Ex: Human Revolution update included a new sniper rifle called the Machina. It looked pretty cool and sci-fi-y (one of the many items to completely ignore the style and time period of the game) and introduced several firsts for the Sniper class, all of which can be summarised as “TF2 playing catch-up with COD”.
Its disadvantages include tracer bullets, meaning a great big line will appear where you’ve just shot, giving your position away. The other disadvantage is the inability to no-scope and those who have played as the Sniper in TF2 will understand how trivial this is. No-scopes do a pathetic amount of damage in the first place, and basically come down to being last resorts for snipers getting bum-rushed. Other than these 2 snags, the Machina is a force to be reckoned with. Ridiculous damage and the ability to fire through more than one enemy to get collateral shots makes this weapon the most overpowered sniper rifle in the game by a long way.
If you want to make sure that everyone on a server hates you, use the Machina. Nothing to lower this guns power has been put in place yet; it’s looking to keep its crown as “King of Cheapness”.
