Team Fortress 2: 15 Stupidest Additions So Far

7. The Ubersaw

Keeping with the topic of stock weapons that will never, ever be used again, 2008 saw Team Fortress 2s very first update event; it added three new medic weapons that you could unlock by completing achievements. One of these was the Ubersaw, a replacement for the medic’s bone-saw. The problem is it did too good of a job. It replaced the bone-saw indefinitely, because it is the most stupidly overpowered thing in the game, if utilized correctly.

To give some context, the medic’s role in Team Fortress 2 is the healer (duh!) who can also make people invincible for a short period of time if he heals enough people, without dying, to build up what’s known as the Ubercharge meter. At 100% you and whoever you’re healing can turn invincible momentarily, and this usually takes a while to build up. The Ubersaw gives you 25% Ubercharge every time you hit someone; so get four hits on the enemy and BAM! Invincibility!

What developed from that was a very annoying tactic where two medics heal each other and run at the enemy with the Ubersaw, getting four hits, and then becoming invincible. Lather, rinse, repeat and these two medics can be perpetually invincible, as demonstrated here.
