Team Fortress 2: 15 Stupidest Additions So Far
3. Strange Weapons
Reskins may just be the same weapons deep down, with no alteration to stats, but what about a weapon which, not only plays the exact same, but also LOOKS the exact same. Wouldn’t that be strange? No, not really, but “strange” weapons are very popular and one of the many wonders that can be found in Mann Co Supply Crates, providing you pay the fee and make Valve that little bit richer.
These are just weapons that keep track of kills. Nothing more. After certain amounts of kills different adjectives appear in front of the weapons name in the flavour text e.g. “Rocket Launcher” becomes “Positively Inhumane Rocket Launcher” after 750 kills. All it really serves as is a bragging right for whoever managed to get enough kills for their weapon to be deemed “Epic”. CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve earned an adjective!
For those who want to start earning adjectives, the weapons themselves can be difficult to obtain, depending on what they are. Unlike normal weapons, stranges can only be found in crates, and even if you don’t mind opening these crates, some of these strange weapons have been purposefully made extremely rare. Want a Strange Machina? Too bad! Your best bet is to buy one, which could end up costing £25+. If you’re favourite strange weapon is available for a limited time only, then you’re pretty much screwed.
