Kuma is the pet bear of Heihachi Mishima. Heihachi found Kuma as a pup, and raised the intelligent bear into a capable, if not somewhat rough martial artist. Kuma developed a rivalry with Paul Phoenix after Paul beat him in a preliminary match before facing of with Heihachi. Kuma tried again to beat Paul before going missing in Tekken 2. His son, also named Kuma, took over after the first Kuma's disappearance, continuing the former bear's rivalry with Paul Phoenix. Why should Kuma return? More like why shouldn't Kuma return?! One of the most charming aspects of the Tekken franchise has been it's propensity to throw in characters who are goofy joke" characters. Tekken 7s new comer Lucky Chloe acts as a sort of comic relief character, as have other characters in the past. However, one of the funniest aspects was when the animal characters appeared. They added a sense of humor the the game, and allowed it to stand out from many of it's deadpan competitors.
