Telltale's Guardians Of The Galaxy Episode 1 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

5. It's Not Part Of The MCU Continuity (But It Should Be)

You'd be forgiven for assuming that this episodic adventure was a direct tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, considering the upcoming release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the general sense it makes for the two projects to share a continuity.

Unfortunately, though, this series is not canon to the MCU and is instead left in its own timeline, something that Telltale has seemingly been quite cagey about confirming ahead of release, basically with the hope of gleaning some extra cash from overzealous MCU obsessives who haven't read reviews before ordering.

But no, it's a totally separate outing, and though you'd expect that would allow Telltale to take a few more creative risks with the characters and situations, that potential is almost totally ignored.
