Telltale's Batman: 10 Comic Stories That Would Be Great Inspiration
4. DC: The New Frontier
This one may be wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be amazing to see a Batman game placed in a moment in time? DC: The New Frontier is a prime example of this, taking the timeless heroes of the monolithic DC universe and grounding them in the social and political context of the 'Long 1960s'. The Dark Knight has his original costume and fights threats iconic for the time period, and Darwyn Cooke's unbeatable penmanship portrays a historical environment immaculately - it just looks and feels fantastic. Whilst I'm not really asking TellTale to make a Batman game set in the 50s (though that would be brilliant), an awareness of how time has influenced the character's mythos would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps the most loved interpretation of said mythos is of course Batman: The Animated Series, which encapsulated all eras the character had operated in and in doing so created a timeless environment full of 1950s fashion, yet infused with 1990s sensibilities and dialogue. It wouldn't necessarily be a good thing for TellTale to mimic such a premise, but something similar in nature that was equally appreciative of all artistic interpretations of the character over the years would help make the game feel both unique and enticing to fans of all ages.
