The Dark Knight Rises: 5 Video Games You Should Play First

4. Rocksteady's Batman Arkham Series

Let me ask you before we go any further, did you hear about Rocksteady Studios before Arkham Asylum was launched? The developers behind it were relatively unknown at the time, but that all changed in 2009 when Batman: Arkham Asylum was released. Arkham Asylum featured a thrilling story of Batman struggling to leave Blackgate Prison with The Joker locked away for good. Another common theme in the very few great Batman games is the stellar voice acting. This series wouldn€™t be where it is today without Mark Hamill€™s portrayal of the Joker in both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Hamill€™s work gave the developers a base to work off of and build around. The biggest switch from Arkham Asylum to City was Arkham City was an open world action adventure, but it still conveyed a tight single player story. Soaring over Arkham as Batman highlighted the experience for many fans that have read the comic books. Now I am cheating by jamming both Arkham installments into our number four spot, but the rest of the games on our list fall under the Dark Knight€™s theme, €œyou either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain€. Enjoy!!!
