The Division: 10 Brand New Details You Need To Know About

9. The 'Story' Has The Same Setup As Destiny's

Which other game started off showing an in-depth story with all sorts of character motivations and memorable storylines? Exactly, and look how Bungie's money-sucking 'masterpiece' turned out in the end. These days, the average Destiny player's hour-count numbers into the hundreds, and that's precisely down to a revelation the industry seemed to have across 2014; 'gamers will play anything for endless amounts of time, if it plays well'. To that end, Destiny did eventually get some decent story included through The Taken King expansion, but that was almost an entire year after launch, after two smaller DLC packs wrung fans' wallets for additional funds and after thousands upon thousand of hours had been spent running the same areas over and over. The Division's premise sets you off as a member of the titular secret agency, 'activating' to protect the city once a selection of gangs have overtaken its various quadrants. Now, does that sound at all similar to Destiny casting you as an anonymous Guardian and asking you to go forth and eradicate the alien hordes? It's either perfect or immensely worrying.
