The Division: 10 Crucial Tips & Tricks You Need To Know
6. Don't Rush Into The Dark Zone
It's understandable that the Dark Zone may be the most enticing part of this game, as since now-a-days PvP has been the calling factor of certain games. You're able to grab your friends and get some of the best gear the game has to offer, either from some NPCs or some unlucky fellow players. But, you really need to be patient when it comes to this area. The level system in the DZ is exclusive to it, as you level up your DZ rank and not your actual level. Yes that's right, you don't gain XP to level up your base level in the DZ, it only effects this other rank, which in turn effects the strength of the gear you can buy while there. So, if you stumble into it without fully speccing up your character with the best guns you could get at that time, you're really just doing yourself a disservice. Yes, I do understand that the matchmaking is level-based so you won't be completely out-gunned, but do not rush into it, it will truly just frustrate you more than anything else. Also, the NPCs in the DZ start at around level 10-14. If you aren't this level on your first time venturing through the gates, you'll be falling to the ground after two to three bullets, tops. If you die in the dark zone you'll lose DZ money, keys and experience - it's really something you need to prepare properly for.
