The Division 2 Review: 10 Ups & 4 Downs

1. It's A Solid Improvement Over The Original

In pretty much ever fibre of its being, The Division 2 is a considerable - if not quite meteoric - improvement over its already solid, if flawed, predecessor.

Massive has clearly listened to player complaints about spongey enemies and a lacklustre out-of-the-box endgame, while also streamlining the main campaign with less filler and placing a greater emphasis on engaging side content.

Will the game do much to change the minds of those who weren't too enamoured with the original?

Absolutely not, but if you enjoyed the first game even in spite of its flaws, a far richer and more rewarding experience awaits you with this meticulously engineered sequel.

It's not without its own issues, of course, but given how cynically so many of us are conditioned to view AAA loot-based games - and usually with good reason - this is a rare one that's clearly been crafted with real love and care.
