5. The Civil War - Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Every person who has played Skyrim has an opinion on the Civil War that grips the land. The most divisive and impactful storyline in Elder Scrolls history, the civil war is a battle between the Stormcloak rebellion led by Ulfric Stormcloak and the Imperial Legion led by General Tullius.
The Stormcloaks believe in breaking away from the Empire and establishing Skyrim as an independent country, ready to return to their old ways and beliefs. The Imperials are all about preserving the Empire and remaining united against the threat of the Thalmor.
With so much Civil War content having to be scrapped from the final release of the game, there would be a real chance to give Skyrim's biggest conflict the scale that it deserves. The storyline takes players to every city and every major castle in the game and, with tie-ins to the main storyline, there are plenty of ways of expanding upon the basic premise of two factions warring for control of a country.
There are so many memorable characters on both sides of the conflict who have become iconic, and it would be awesome to see each one of Skyrim's cities being laid siege to on the big screen.
