The Elder Scrolls: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Khajit
1. Elsweyr Is Pretty Much Two Countries
Elsweyr has always been one of the more forgotten regions on Tamriel, with plenty of fans longing for a full solo adventure built around exploring its many mysteries.
In truth, Elsweyr is essentially two countries joined up into one.
In fact, initially the province of Elsweyr was in fact two regions: Anequina to the north and Pellitine in the south. These two provinces would be joined up during the second era, but their geographical and societal differences remain very much present to this day.
Anequina in the north is a land ravaged by arid deserts and is barely able to support much in the way of life. A handful of nomad groups make their home there, but in-fighting and a lack of co-operation makes things hard going. Pellitine in the south is much more built up in comparison.
Swarmed on by huge forests much like its neighbour Valenwood, home of the Wood Elves, Pellitine houses the main city of Torval, the ancient race of wise Khajiit known as the Mane, as well as the bulk of the moon sugar plantations and marketplaces instrumental in keeping Elsweyr financially afloat.
