The Elder Scrolls VI: 10 Skyrim Mods That Must Be Included
4. Lore Weapon Expansion
One of the things that made Skyrim’s customisation a little sparse, was the fact that the weapons had a single design. Not only did it ruin immersion to an extent by having every single steel sword identical to one another, it was difficult to have unique characters when the chances of running into a bandit wearing the same gear as you were so high. However, the modding community were quick to change that.
Lore Weapon Expansion made the ingenious decision to take the old weapons from Oblivion and Morrowind and implement them into Skyrim, giving a multitude of variations to each weapon. Instead of there only being one iron sword, now there were three familiar variations from previous games. And while the mod hasn’t added all the weapons, the ones that are there are well made and work perfectly.
Having more variation in weapon choice is a necessity for Elder Scrolls VI and implementing weapons from previous games not only makes sense game-play wise and lore wise, but it wouldn’t take nearly as long as designing and implementing new weaponry. While I’m not saying, they shouldn’t make a new range weapons as they always do, using the ideas from Lore Weapon Expansion is an easy fix to the severe lack of diverse weapons.
