The Evil Within 2: 6 Ways To Make It 2017's Best Horror Game
1. Make Sebastian A Real Character
Conspiracy theory, Sebastian is a robot. Although The Evil Within did not confirm it, there were enough hints with his dull, lacking emotion, and heartless attitude. Then again, robots in the past have proven to be more human than certain individuals, so perhaps Sebastian is instead a victim of his God - Shinji Mikami - forgetting to give him a soul.
Playing The Evil Within, Sebastian's impassiveness became comical. Literally, running away from a ferocious Spider Lady, he took the time to turn around and vacantly say, "What is it with you?". This is merely one example of Sebastian's lifelessness, and it consequently resulted in a protagonist who was incapable of making people care.
With fans returning and new players joining, The Evil Within 2 has the opportunity to give its deadpanned detective the much needed blue fairy treatment.
Signs are there with him going to into depression, returning to alcoholism and embarking on a father-driven journey - reminiscent of Harry Mason - to rescue his believed to be dead daughter.
However, fans will only know if Tango Gameworks deliver on their promise of focusing on the story and its characters once the game is available.
