Street Fighter V

It's weird saying anything nice about Street Fighter V, a game that since launch, has done nothing but put off its historically huge fanbase. Charging money for stages, missing essential features, even prioritising the eSports crowd over anything else - there's a lot to dislike.

But with all that said, at its core, Street Fighter V is an immaculately well-playing game, born from decades of hard work, creating what is easily the most accomplished and "easy to pick up, hard to master" fighter out there.

You need only see SFV in motion to get a feel for it yourself, its gorgeous animation style meaning every characters' specials pop off like mini fireworks displays. It's just a crying shame Capcom couldn't deliver on everything else surrounding that core appeal.

It'll be very interesting to see how the reception goes if this actually does win, as at this point, many longtime fans are p*ssed.
