The Game Awards 2018: 15 Things We Learned
8. Ashen Is FINALLY Out
They finally did it. Dark Souls-esque adventure game Ashen was first announced back in mid-2014, and in recent times many became increasingly convinced that it had become vapour-ware destined never to be released.
But mercy be, the game was shadow-dropped during The Game Awards, being instantly released on both Xbox Game Pass and Epic Games Store.
It's an especially curious release strategy as concrete information about the action-RPG was still fairly vague right up until the shadow-drop, beyond it focusing on exploration, combat and passive multiplayer elements.
The first few reviews are pretty encouraging, though, and with most critics reporting a playtime of 15-20 hours, it seems like a pretty robust experience for your buck.
