6. Joel And Tess' Reaction To Ellie's Bite

The show’s second sequence also addressed one of last week's wonkier moments: just how rushed Ellie’s infection reveal was.

The beat gets way more time and significance here - ultimately a smart move to avoid Joel's killing taking the spotlight off it completely in the previous episode.

Joel and Tess grilling Ellie over her bite was well executed, with snappy dialogue building character as much as establishing the rules of the universe. Having Ellie receive another bite later just to drive the idea she’s immune home and settle Joel’s nerves was also a nice touch. Another up.
