This little tidbit was included in the blog post following the trailer drop, but it still helps shine a light on the kind of game The Last of Us Part 2 is going to be. While the press release featured the kind of proclamations you'd expect to see ('this is our most ambitious game ever!') it also revealed that the title is also the longest game Naughty Dog has crafted.

Previous releases - including the original Last of Us - weren't exactly skimping on hours, with the last two games clocking in around the 15-hour mark, so the emphasis here would suggest that the sequel is significantly longer than what fans are used to from the studio. On top of that, it appears to be shipping on two discs, something which only really Red Dead Redemption 2 has done so far this generation.

After five years in development, that's probably to be expected, but it's still encouraging to know players are in store for a meaty, content-heavy experience when the game ships early next year.
