9. A Breath Of Fresh, Linear Air
The whole linear gameplay aspect of The Order: 1886 was a big moaning point for a lot of gamers. "What's the point in giving us London if we can't wander around it as we like?" For some reason, a large number of people believe that everything has to be open-world these days. News flash: It really doesn't. Making something open world doesn't immediately make it good. In fact, it often leads to lacklustre gameplay, pacing and narrative, in favour of the freedom to walk about not really doing anything. By taking open-world out of the equation, ReadyAtDawn have managed to craft a very intricate story, but they've also managed to avoid making the universe feel smaller for it. London feels expansive, and although you're seeing the city district by district, chapter by chapter, you never really feel closed off from the wider universe.
