The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff: What You Need To Know

Living In A Haunted House

The week was a bit of a rollercoaster for the Badams' family. On night one, it was fairly tame all around. Some spooky noises woke the family up a few times, all apart from little toddler Olivia who remained fast asleep. The others quickly went back to sleep too with little fuss. Sunday summoned a few of the cute green floating globs the game calls 'Spectres', and the rest of the family had fairly little reaction to their new friends.

Night two was much of the same, except for the arrival of Guidry the Good Ghost, a Johnny Depp look-a-like. He's there to literally be your guide as the Sims can ask him for advice on surviving the night. Guidry also spawns with a flirty emotion, for no discernible reason other than being the capering Casanova Casper that he is.

On day three, Travis Scott - irritating neighbour - arrived at the same time as a group of angry spectres. Of course, the child Tyler let him in just to see what would happen. Sims close to the angry, fire breathing spectres got a 'NOPE' moodlet. Apart from that, day three ended without much hurrah and Travis Scott lived to tell the tale.

On day 4, I turned on 'Heroic Mode' via the hand item, which says that it makes the spiritual volatility of the house degrade far quicker, to see if it is more of a challenge. Dad sChaz decides to get involved in Sunday's spooky hobby and work on his own Medium skill (as it turns out, teenagers can't go full exorcist and join the Paranormal Investigator freelance job.) He also noticed that, if flirty, he could invite Guidry for a drink. Much to the families bemusement, that became a part of his new quest. He spent the night selling his soul to various spectres and apart from receiving some forbidden sweets, it was a quiet night again.

Megan Robb has a lot of opinions on a lot of stuff, but feels deeply uncomfortable referring to herself in the third person.
