The Walking Dead: 9 Reasons The Game Is Better Than The Show

4. You Get To Fight (And Survive) The Walkers

At the end of the day it's a video game, and while it is not Left for Dead or Call of Duty, you do get to slay some zombies. Darryl Dixon and Michonne are great at taking down walkers, but isn€™t it more fun to bash some zombies yourself? These games aren€™t shooters, so don€™t expect to be handed a machine gun and take to the streets fighting your way through a horde, but there are several times when you do have to defend yourself or die trying. A one-on-one struggle with a zombie when you are weaponless can get pretty desperate all on its own; Telltale put you in danger sure, but it€™s the kind that you can handle if you can keep your wits about you. The level of control when you are in combat is more realistic than in most games too. There is no reticle to line up when you zero in on a walker€™s head, and the recoil from the gun will shake up your next shot. The shooting controls are nowhere near as tight as common first-person shooters, but that's a good thing - these are normal people put into extreme circumstances, not trained killers.
