7. The Characters

Every character in the game has something special to bring to the table. Much like the show, they are characters you either love or you hate. However, it is your choice whether you make them likable characters, or ones you wouldn't mind being torn apart by walkers. Another positive with the game is nearly every character gets their fair amount of screen time and dialogue. Of course since it is a game you are in complete control of who and how long you talk to each character. However, in the show it seems some characters go completely wasted, they are just there to add dramatic fullness. Every character in the game has something to offer, you get different benefits to being nice to some, and lose benefits from being hateful to others, something that could be much more stressed in the show. Also the characters are, for the most part, lovable. Lee is the typical everyday hero appointed leader, like Rick. Clementine is nothing like Carl first-second season, which means she doesn't screw everything up, pretty rare for a kid in these situations. You also get to see some familiar characters from the comics and show, they stick around just enough to give you some familiarity but don't overstay their welcome. Like any TV show and even game there are the characters you want to punch in the face, however it seems like in almost every episode of The Walking Dead show, one character that I like does something to make me want to punch them in the face. Throughout so many episodes of you are bound to get annoyed with particular characters, but they could take a few hints from the game as to how to keep characters sympathetic and engaging.
